Weekly Update // Pastor Will
Hi Asbury Family,
This past Sunday, we launched our new sermon series, The Life We Share—and what a meaningful way to begin this next chapter together. As we walk through this season of transition, preparing to welcome Pastor Emily and Pastor Jon into the life of Asbury, it’s more important than ever to reflect on the deep, shared life we have in Christ.
Pastor Durwood also reminded us about our Can Do campaign, based on Philippians 4:16. This effort is all about closing the deficit we carried into the year and creating a strong foundation for Jon and Emily as they step into leadership. Your faithfulness and generosity are a blessing to this church and its future.
This weekend is also extra special as we celebrate Mother’s Day and honor all the moms and mom-like figures in our lives. It all starts Friday evening with the Women in Faith “Night in Paris” Banquet—a beautiful evening of fellowship, fun, and celebration that sets the tone for a weekend full of gratitude and love.
On a personal note, I can’t say enough about the women in our front office. They have truly been a gift to me and my family. They keep me organized, keep me straight, and even help watch my kids when needed—always with grace, patience, and a deep sense of care. They’ve loved us like family, and I am so, so grateful.
On the horizon is our Family Carnival on May 16! We’re still looking for a few extra hands to help make it a great evening. If you’re available to pitch in, please reach out to our Children’s Director, Laura Malloy, at childrensministry@asburymaitland.org.
Join us this Sunday as we continue in worship at 9:30 for our Celebration Service and 11:00 for our Traditional Service. Let’s come together, give thanks, and celebrate the life we share—with one another and in Christ.
With gratitude,
Will
