Weekly Update // Pastor Will
Hi friends,
I wanted to share the statement I read on Sunday regarding my new appointment to Tuskawilla beginning in July. As I shared below, it has been an incredible blessing to serve as your pastor, and I will carry Asbury with me wherever I go.
Thank you again for the privilege of being your pastor. While I’ll only be here for another month, let’s make it a meaningful and memorable one together!
Good morning, church family.
I want to take just a moment this morning to follow up and share a few words from my heart. As was just shared, I’ll be stepping into a new appointment at Tuskawilla United Methodist Church beginning July 1. My last Sunday here at Asbury will be June 8.
Even though I feel a deep peace that this is where God is leading me, it doesn’t make it any easier to say goodbye. Asbury has been so much more than just a church to me and my family — you have truly been our home. Over the past four years, you’ve loved us, supported us, and walked with us through life’s joys and challenges. We are forever grateful.
When I was younger, growing up at Suntree United Methodist Church, I always felt like church was a second home — a place where I could make mistakes (even some silly ones!), find my footing, and grow up in a community that accepted me just as I was. For many years, I dreamed of helping create that kind of space for others. What I didn’t realize is that God was also creating that kind of space for me — right here at Asbury.
Serving as your pastor has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I have absolutely loved being here, and that’s what makes this transition so incredibly hard.
While change is never easy, I trust that God’s hand is in it — both for me and for Asbury. Thank you for being such a beautiful part of our story. No matter where God leads, a part of my heart will always remain here with you.
Thank you for letting me be your pastor. It has truly been an honor.
